Who is this course for?

It's designed for drummers who are looking to move on from beginner skills into the world of intermediate and advanced concepts - especially as they pertain to odd-timed concepts such as polyrhythms, double kick, and working with subdivisions.

It's not for people looking for a quick fix - this is a deep-dive course designed to be studied across a month or so, then revisited to focus on the most game-changing elements for your specific skill set.

How long does this course take?

It's designed to take about a month to work through the initial lesson content.

I recommend that students save a practice list(this is a feature built into the website) for easy access to specific Masterclass lessons that can be revisited and worked on in more detail.

What is the ideal setup I need to get the most out of the Masterclass?

Ideal: a drum kit (acoustic or electric) at home, or close by + a way to record yourself. A phone is perfect for this.

Backup plan: If you don't have easy access to a drum kit, then a couple of practice pads and a kick drum pad will be a good starting point.

If you don't have any of these things - why are you here? Go shopping!

Will Jay help me with accountablility?

You bet I will! I've set up a Discord server specifically to give my students access to support and advice directly from me.

I also host exclusive live streams to assist Masterclass students with specific questions and issues relating to their playing.

What should I expect to achieve in the first month?

So much! You'll finally have a practice routine that works for you, rather than against you - and you'll be playing and composing ideas that previously seemed impossible.

This is the goal I have for all of my students within the first month.

From there, you'll have a whole new understanding of the drums as an instrument, with new ways to navigate fills and grooves - and all the resources you need at your fingertips to continue expanding your skillset.

I don't want to do challenges or assignments, or calls with Jay - can I still do the Masterclass?

Yes! Of course you can.

I get that some people won't want to participate in live streams or 1-on-1s - and I would never force you to do that. That stuff is just a bonus for those of you who find it helpful.

If you're like me - a happy introvert - and you prefer learning alone, then you can absolutely still work with my Masterclass.

I'm worried that I'll start and never finish...

This is a common thought that so many people have - and it's something I thought when I started making the Masterclass! It felt like an endless task at times - but the whole point is to simply get started. That's the biggest leap of faith.

Once you begin to witness the changes that my lessons + your efforts are resulting in, you'll want to keep practicing.

And if you feel like you're slipping, you can always drop me a line for additional support.

I'm away from home a lot - is it worth me doing the Masterclass?

If you can fit a practice pad and a pair of sticks in your luggage, then yes, absolutely.

Don't allow your work or travel arrangements to become an excuse to stop you from practicing the drums. Drumming is one of the main things in my life that keeps me centered - drumming and learning. This course covers both of those things.

Is this going to be expensive?

No. How much would you pay for in-person lessons? On the low end, maybe $60 per hour with an average drum tutor, who doesn't specialize in any of the concepts I'm going to teach you.

What about a music school - countless thousands of dollars.

This course is a hugely valuable investment compared to these options - and over the long term, will deliver you more.

Is this going to be difficult?

No - it's going to be fun and at times, challenging as I'll present you with ideas that are totally new - but I do this step by step. You're not getting dropped into the deep end.

If this doesn't work for me, can I get a refund?

Yes – I offer a money-back guarantee once you’ve completed the Masterclass.

So far, no one has ever asked for a refund – but I stand behind the program completely. The only condition is that you complete every lesson in the Masterclass. It wouldn’t be fair to say it doesn’t work without fully committing to the process.

If you put in the work and still don’t feel satisfied, I’ll refund you in full.

TESTIMONIALS

What My Students are Saying

This course transformed my drumming

I'd been stuck in a rut with my drumming for well over a year, until I discovered Jay's Masterclass. I can't sing its praises highly enough. You have to experience this for yourself.

It's the transformation my drumming needed.

Stuart - Drum Student

The best drumming course I've ever taken

The Masterclass focuses on fundamentals and builds on them. What I love the most is that I don't have to think about what to practise – I just hop on the drums and start practising with the next lesson.

I’m finally seeing and feeling progress. I keep coming back to practice, even on the most tiring days - and this is my biggest win - coming back to the drums regularly and staying consistent.

Gosia - Drum Student

There's nothing else like this online!

I just have to say - no one else is teaching this stuff!

I can't believe it took so long for someone to finally explain these things in such an easy-to-follow way.

For odd-timed drumming, there's simply no better resource than Jay's Masterclass

Mike - Drum Student

I finally understand polyrhythms!

I'd been trying to understand and apply polyrhythms to my drumming, but nothing was landing until I started working through Jay's Masterclass.

The 'Progressive Patterns' module and the odd-timing Module especially were game-changers for me.

Matt - Drum Student

Highly recommended for technical drumming

With all the information floating around the internet, things can become cloudy really fast. I needed help with a solid practice regimen to reach the next level.

As soon as I saw Jay’s Masterclass, I knew this was for me.

My goals are finally clear thanks to precise, realistic lessons.

Instant improvements to my playing

This is the first time I've experienced noticeable overnight improvements in my drumming.

Jay's lessons have taught me so much, and this Masterclass especially has been a game-changer for me.

The curtain has been pulled back on so many pro-drumming tips - I feel like I'm behind-the-scenes with one of my heroes!

Audrey - Drum Student

I'm Jay Postones, drummer for TesseracT – an internationally renowned progressive metal band. Over the past decade, I’ve toured the world, performing to sold-out crowds and major festivals, all while developing my own brand of technical, forward-thinking metal drumming.

Alongside my career as a performer, I’ve become deeply passionate about teaching and sharing the methods that helped me break through the walls of odd time signatures, polyrhythms, and technical grooves. My goal is to take the complexity of progressive drumming and make it practical, musical, and accessible for any drummer who’s ready to push their playing further.

Whether it’s on stage with TesseracT or working with students around the globe, I’ve dedicated my career to exploring new rhythmic ideas and helping other drummers unlock their own creative potential.

Who this course IS for

  • You’re ready to push beyond your comfort zone – you want to break free from playing the same grooves and dive into odd times & technical concepts.

  • You’re committed to regular practice – even if it’s just 15–20 minutes, 3-4 times per week, you’re willing to put in the work consistently.

  • You want structure and clarity – instead of aimlessly jamming, you want a step-by-step method that actually delivers progress.

  • You’re hungry for creativity – you’re not just copying patterns, you want to understand why they work and how to use them musically.

  • You’re serious about leveling up – whether you’re aiming for the stage, the studio, or personal mastery, you know now is the time to invest in your drumming.

Who this course ISN'T for

  • Drummers looking for a quick fix – if you’re after overnight results without putting in the practice, this isn’t for you.

  • Players who aren’t willing to step outside 4/4 – if you want to stick to only the basics and never challenge yourself, you won’t enjoy this.

  • People who give up as soon as it feels uncomfortable – growth comes from pushing past that wall, and this course will ask that of you.

  • Those who want to be “shown everything” without experimenting – creativity and exploration are at the heart of progressive drumming.

  • Drummers who don’t value consistent practice – if you can’t commit to regular, focused sessions, the breakthroughs won’t happen.
